1. @hispanic_society

The official account of the Hispanic Society Museum & Library in New York, dedicated to the art and cultures of Spain, Portugal, Latin America, and the Philippines.

2. @stephanieherdrich

Personal account of the Associate Curator of American Painting & Sculpture at The Met. Wonderful details of paintings!

3. @theatlanticworldarchive

A collection of Atlantic visual cultures, from the fifteenth to twentieth centuries, highlighting art historical representations of people of colour.

4. @historyeats

One for all of the foodies out there! Food historian Dr Eleanor Barnett shares histories of food, recipes, and eating from around the world.

5. @mark_ponte

This account looks mainly at early modern Dutch history from a perspective of migration, colonialism and slavery.

 

6. @themetwanderer

Follow one museum lover’s trips to The Met in New York, including detailed looks at individual artworks and current exhibitions.

7. @ablackhistoryofart

Art historian Alayo Akinkugbe highlights overlooked Black artists, sitters, curators and thinkers from art history and today.

8. @queerarthistory

Founded by artist, activist, and speaker Casey Hoke, this initiative offers a visual history of queer culture. Lots more information and artworks on the website, which also allows you to submit your own suggestions.

9. @artherstorynotes

Run by Erika Gaffney, this account is dedicated to women artists who have been historically overlooked. Be sure to check out the accompanying website

10. blackaristocratart

Glory Samjolly, artist and founder of Black Aristocrat Art, runs this amazing account which showcases depictions of Black people throughout history.
