Aristide Maillol (1861-1944). La quête de l'harmonie

Aristide Maillol (1861-1944). La quête de l'harmonie is the first major exhibition in Paris dedicated to the artist since the 1961 Hommage à Maillol organised by the Musée national d’art moderne for the centenary of his birth. Known mainly for his sculpture, he started out as a painter influenced by Puvis de Chavannes and Gaugin, and turned briefly to tapestry, before producing his first sculpture in 1895.
