Artemisia Gentileschi in Naples is dedicated to the painter's long stay in the city where she is documented between 1630 and 1654, interrupted only by a trip to London between 1638 and 1640. Created in collaboration with the National Gallery, London and in collaboration with the Museo e Real Bosco di Capodimonte, the State Archives of Naples and the University of Naples L'Orientale, it presents aselection of works from from public and private, Italian and international collections . The exhibition follows the chronological arc of Artemisia’s stay in Naples where she set up a flourishing workshop and interacted - sometimes collaborativel - with the best local artists, from Massimo Stanzione to Onofrio Palumbo to Bernardo Cavallino.

The exhibition at the new Gallerie d'Italia in Naples was born as an extension of the monographic exhibition dedicated to the artist at the National Gallery in London in 2020.
