As a tribute to the great poet Dante Alighieri on the 700th anniversary of his death, the Uffizi have digitised dozens of drawings by the Mannerist painter and draughtsman Federico Zuccari which tell the story of the Dante’s fictive journey from the Inferno, through Purgatory, and finally up to Paradise. These have been uploaded onto the exhibition website where you can see each drawing in high resolution alonside excerpts from the text. For more about the story of Dante’s journey, listen to the podcast discussion with the exhibition’s curator, Donatella Fratini, in our Podcasts section.
