Beginning at London’s National Gallery and ending at Fortnum & Mason on Piccadilly, taking in St. Martin’s Lane, Orange Street, Cecil Court, Piccadilly Circus, Princes Arcade and Jermyn Street along the way, the Augmented Gallery consists of twenty life-size colourful frames and plaques on walls around the area, each of which will contain QR codes and unique markers to unlock timeless masterpieces.

Paintings from the collections of the National Gallery, the National Portrait Gallery and Royal Academy include works by Titian, Vincent Van Gogh, Artemisia Gentileschi, Georges Seurat, Ishbel Myerscough, Shirin Neshat and Tracey Emin and portraits of iconic sitters from William Shakespeare to Malala Yousafzai, some of them by finalists and winners of Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year.

The Augmented Gallery app can be downloaded free to access the trail along with a map of the route, commentaries and a list of the art works on virtual display.
