Drawing On Arabian Nights

For our most recent online event, Dr Nicola Jennings (Director of Athena Art Foundation) talked with the curators of Drawing on Arabian Nights, now on at London's Courtauld Gallery. Dr Emily Christensen and Dr Ambra D’Antone took us through how the exhibition developed, and its key artworks, aims and challenges. We also learned about the history of Orientalism as a term and as an artistic phenomenon, its histories in both Western and Middle Eastern art, and its continued significance today for artists, collectors, curators and art lovers alike.
