Fabio Viale: In Between
Fabio Viale: In Between showcases new work by the Turinese sculptor connecting classical art and contemporary imagery by means of ‘tattoos’ placed on copies of works in marble such as Canova’s Cupid and Psyche, the Venus de Milo and the Laocoön. Viale, who trained as a traditional sculptor, has developed the computer-assisted technique himself. The exhibition , designed to make public space and museum space interact in a dialogue between ancient and contemporary, connects the Piazzetta Reale in front of Turin’s Royal Museums to the Armory, passing through the Court of Honor, the Staircase, the Swiss Guard Hall and the Shroud Chapel .
